Memorial Service For Relayers Henrietta and Hilshire Demina

Earlier this month, the captain of the Relay for Life in Second Life team Strange Journey and her real-life brother, Henrietta and Hilshire Demina, were killed in an auto accident. On Saturday January 27, numbers of her friends and supporters came by her virtual family's castle to pay their respects. It was a sad moment, but also one to look upon the happiness that they, particularly Henrietta, had brought to Second Life and the Relay.

  1. 'Look into my eyes
    You will see
    What you mean to me
    Search your heart
    Search your soul
    And when you find me there, you'll search no more...' -Bryan Adams, 'Everything I do'..

    Well.. I guess I'm known for my ad-libbing musical lines.. I find that music is sometimes the best way to express what I feel..Often it's spur of the moment.. But this is how I feel - Henrietta lives on inside of us and always will.

    I think I'd also like to touch on the experiences that were shared during the memorial.. It seemed that many of her friends and family waxed poetic - I'd like to quote this particular line by Walt Whitman...

    'O Captain! my Captain! rise up and hear the bells;
    Rise up—for you the flag is flung—for you the bugle trills,
    For you bouquets and ribbon’d wreaths—for you the shores a-crowding,
    For you they call, the swaying mass, their eager faces turning..'

    You will be missed for all time.
